Itinerary: I will pick you up on Day 1 from your hotel in Manaus at 8 a.m. and drive you to the Port of Seasa. From there, we will take a speedboat to cross the Rio Negro (Negro River). We stop at the meeting of the waters so you can see and feel this natural phenomenon and take some photos. You will enjoy seeing how the two rivers flow side-by-side without mixing for several kilometers, and then seeing the mixed waters from the other side. We will next take a small van at the main road to arrive at the lodge. This journey will take about 2 hours total. At 12:30 p.m., we will have a delicious lunch and some siesta time.
At 3:00 p.m. on Day 1, we will go out on our first bird-watching tour. Each of the following days we will leave the lodge in the morning to bird-watch as well. Viewing the wildlife in the Amazon Rainforest offers you an opportunity to experience firsthand one of the most biodiverse locations in the world! There are over a thousand bird species alone. Some of the highlights of this multi-day viewing include hoatzins, macaws, parrots, toucans, various hawks, antshrikes, flycatchers, horned screamers, sunbitterns, trogons, jacamars, herons, euphonias, egrets, limpkins, common potoos, and puffbirds. But, you will see much more as well. Please bring good binoculars, and we will provide excellent guides. This is a trip you will remember for a lifetime!
